Hello Blog Friends!
It's our son's birthday today....Happy Birthday Pat! I'm posting the card I made for him. I got the idea for this card from a post I saw last week. I really like the way the background turned out. I started out with a piece of kraft card stock, Vintage Photo Distress ink, a Tim woodgrain embossing folder, and then used walnut stain on the top layer. Stamped the image with Dark Brown Chalk ink. I used Vintage Photo on the edges of the distressed image. For the "rope" I braided three strands of dark brown twine and knotted the ends so that it wouldn't unravel. You can "click" on any of the photos to make them bigger. Then I used four tiny antique copper brads in corners. Have there been times when you wished that your embossing folder was bigger? This was one of those times. To "stretch" it a bit, I added a strip of dark chocolate card stock to the bottom of the embossed piece. Backed the woodgrain embossed piece with terra cotta card stock, then taped that to the kraft colored card. I wish Tim Holtz made bigger embossing folders like the bigger Cuttlebug embossing folders.
Here's a pic of the inside of the card. Stamp is by Stampendous. I added a tiny copper star on the H. Stamped words on cream card stock, then backed it with terra cotta card stock.
And here's a pic of the envelope. I used an old Stampendous alphabet set called Logs.
That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by. Until next time....
