Revisiting the "Brayering Technique"

Happy Weekend Friends!

I came across this card that I made some time back, and thought I'd post the "Brayering Technique" I used on it.  For some reason, brayering has never come easy to me, but this card turned out the way I think brayering should look.  lol

Mr. Mark, from Stamp A Mania stamps likes to tease me about the brayering technique.  If I can't do it so that it looks really good, I'm not happy, ask Mark.   I have to tell you, one year I got the flu when I was supposed to demo the brayering technique for Mark & Cynthia at stamp convention.  Dear Hubby said "I've watched you enough, I can do that, and I'll go to convention and demo!"  Well, you could have knocked me over with a feather....never thought I'd hear those words come out of his mouth.  He went, did the demo all day, and sold lots of product for Stamp A Mania.  Mark said the second day of convention, the ladies returned to the booth and kept asking "where's Randy?"  Oh my!

Anyway, here's the card.  Because the image takes up so much of the space, I left it pretty simple.  I added the decorative corners to the black card stock, and then finished it off with a little Stickles on the feathers.

So ladies, get out those brayers and get going.  If you do any brayering, I'd love to see what you've done!

By the way.....I've been playing with some of the Stamp A Mania fabulous Embossing Powders.  I'll be posting a card soon.  If you want the BEST embossing powders ever, go to www.stampamania.com and take a look at all the wonderful colors they offer.  You won't be disappointed in the superior quality of their powders.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful weekend.  Until next time....

An ATC and a Card - Topic was "Metal"

Hi Friends,

Today I'm sharing an ATC and a card.  One of the women in our group wanted cards, not ATC's, so I was making her a card with the ATC I'd made.  It's pretty easy to incorporate an ATC into a card design.   Here's what I came up with for both.

The topic was "metal."  I used aluminum tape for my metal.  You can see where part of the tape came a apart a bit when I ran it thru the embossing folder.  It's okay tho.....not a biggie.  I suppose I could have gone and looked for mirror paper, but ran out of time.   I think that's what it's called.  Anyway, embossed the tape, punched out a turquoise butterfly with glitter paper, backed both the ATC and butterfly in black.

                                                                     Here's the ATC

Here's the card.  I used the same embossing folder for the turquoise paper, and found a piece of paper with some brown and turquoise swirly pattern.  So here's the card made with the ATC.   The card size is an A7 (5" x 7").  Kinda hard to tell in the picture.

Here's the card with the ATC

A Get Well Card for Winnie

Happy Easter Blog Friends!

I didn't get an Easter card photographed in time to put on the blog today, but did find a bunny to post.

This is a card I made for my friend in New York City ..... Winnie.  Glad you're feeling much better these days, my friend.

The stamp is by Stampendous/House Mouse.  Love their stamps.  Colored up with Copics.  I used some scrap paper from my stash for the background.  The tiny "get well wishes" stamp is from SU, and I attached the words with tiny brads.  I punched the little flowers with a punch, and used another punch for the grass and leaves behind the flowers.  Tiny gems are in the center of the flowers.

Wishing you and yours a very Blessed Easter!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  Until next time.....
