Pretty in Pink

Hello Blog Friends,

Here's the second card I promised to post.  Remember I said it would be another color combination?  Well here she is in pink.   I've thought of so many color combinations that could be used.  Even a bouquet with different colored flowers would be pretty.  So many possibilities.  I left this dress in white (with some shading), but of course there are so many ideas for the dress, headband and little shoes too.

I'll keep this short.....just wanted you to see the pink card.  I'll be back again later this week.  Thanks for dropping in today!

Kim's Birthday Card 2013

Hello Blog Friends!

Today I'm sharing a card I made for our daughter for her birthday.  I asked Kim what her favorite color is, and she has several.  She said it depends on what the thing is.....so I picked a greenish teal color for her card since the first colors she mentioned were "different shades of green."  I wondered if the greens would be her favorite color since she loves working with plants, flowers and gardening is her favorite thing to do.   :o)

I used Martha Stewart punches for the butterflies, little pearls for the embellishments on the butterflies and distress ink on the edges of the wings.  The doily stamps are by Inkadinkado.  I got the poppy girl stamp at The Hen House in Albuquerque.  Love that stamp!

Tomorrow, I'll post another version of the stamp....well, let's say it's another color combination.

That's it for today.  I'll be back tomorrow.  Happy weekend!

Dogs are Proof that God Loves Us.................

Hello Blog Friends,

Well, it's another yucky windy day in Santa Fe.  We had to run several errands yesterday, and being in the wind really did another number on my allergies.  Back to square one today...ugh.  On to today's posting.  This card is one I made for hubby.  As you all may have guessed, we're are major dog lovers.  Hubby trains dogs, and we've rescued several doggies in our lifetime.  We joke that we're banned from going into Humane Society adoption buildings because we usually leave with a critter.  Hubby was in a wedding (one of the groomsmen) several years ago in Roswell, NM.  We went to the Humane Society the day before the wedding and fell in love with a puppy that had been returned because he was too active.  I left the reception early the next day to go pick up our new fur baby "Buffy".  lol  That particular Humane Society was wonderful.  You would have thought that we were adopting a human baby.  We had to fill out soooooo many forms!  They had Buff ready for me.  Just bathed, 2 little blankets, bottles of water, puppy food, bowls, toys, and an ice pack to keep things cool for him.  He was the best little dog...such a lover.  Today tho, we have just the one dog, Zoe Blue.  She's turning out to be such a lovey.  :o)   Oh yeah...the card......  The stamp says it all.  I used a Spellbinder's die, Copic markers, twine, buttons and distress inks around the die cut.  Hubby loved the card.  ;o)

That's it for today.  Thanks for putting up with my doggie stories.  We have many!  I'll be back again soon.

A Bridesmaids' Luncheon Invitation -- For Sarah Wistner

Happy Weekend Blog Friends!

The winds have finally started dying down, and I am happy.  Allergies are calming down as well.  Today's posting has lots of pictures.  I was asked to design an invitation for a Bridesmaids' Luncheon for a friends daughter in Texas.  I was honored to be asked.  Sarah and Ben will be getting married on May 4.  I know the wedding is going to be beautiful.  We are invited to the wedding, but sadly, will not be able to attend.  I'd give anything if we could be there.  The wedding invitation we received was beautiful.  We can only image what Kathy and Granger have planned for their daughter's wedding day.  :o)   One of Sarah's colors is pacific blue, so I used that color on the background for the luncheon invitation.

The waistband on the dress is embossed, and tiny pearls have were added to the top of the dress and the bottom of the skirt (fourth picture).  The invitation is 5" x 7".  The wording on the invitation is done with a Spellbinder's die.  Nicia asked if I would also make the place cards for the guests.  I came up with the idea of making a tiny bridal veil for the place cards.  That is the picture at the very bottom.  I was so happy that I had that teeny flower punch.  I'll tell you, I got lots of use out of my tweezers!  Placing teeny tiny pearls on the dress and the veil, I used my tweezers a lot.  I tried to show different angles on the dress so that you can see the pearls.  I hope you can see the tiny pearls at the bottom of the skirt.

That's it for today.  I hope you enjoy the pictures today.....

Second Index Cover Sheet for SAM - More images

Dear Blog Friends,

I was supposed to post the second index cover yesterday.  I've had the worst allergies in years, and took an allergy pill.  OMG.....I slept most of the day.  Eeeek!  I can tell you, I won't be taking one today.  Ugh....I didn't like the way that made me feel.  Although I do feel better today, I can't afford to lose another day with those pills.  Be careful when taking allergy meds.

Today's posting is the second index cover sheet I did for Stamp A Mania (SAM).  My fave (image) is the blue gate with the hollyhocks.  My Grandma Alfie, had hollyhocks around the perimeter of her house.  They grew wild, and provided the most beautiful scene every summer.  Different colors, and they bloomed all summer long.  I loved looking at her house in the summer time.  It looked like a house in a storybook.  White stucco on a little house with an upstairs attic, with blue trim on her windows.  I miss my granny.

These images took a little longer to color than the first index sheet.  More detail in these images.  Now I'm off to finish what I didn't get done yesterday.  Today is our daughter's birthday, so need to get ready for tonight!  Thanks for dropping by today!

Stamp A Mania New Images Cover Index Sheet

Hello Blog Friends,

Today's posting is the cover of one of the new Stamp A Mania (SAM) stamps.  I was honored to be asked to color the covers for the new sets.  I hope you like them.  You can either get the whole set of stamps, or you can order individual stamps.  What's nice about ordering the set is that the stamps arrive on a color laminated index sheet that you can keep in your binder.  Love that feature.  The SAM website is:  www.stampamania.com

Tomorrow, I'll be sharing the second new set "cover" from SAM.  There's one stamp in the second set that I'm partial to.....I'll explain that tomorrow.

Thanks for dropping in today.  I'll be back with the second cover next time.

Butterflies & Lilies

Hi Blog Friends,

Today's card is another card we sent to Kim.  Butterflies and lilies.  I love the stamp, and it was a fun one to color.  Kim's favorite flower is the Star Gazer Lily.  The butterflies are Martha Stewart punches.  I want to say that the stamp is by Peddler's Pack, but I'm not 100% sure.  It sure looks like a PP stamp.  The stamp takes up almost all of the card front.  Tiny pearls were added to the butterflies, and distressed ink is on the outer edges of the wings.

Thanks for stopping by today.  See you again soon.

A card for Kimmie.....It's Paris!

Hello Blog Friends!

Today I'm posting a card I made for our daughter Kim.  She has a grey kitty named "Paris"
When I saw this stamp, I had to get it and make a card for her.  Paris is such a funny little guy.  I think he thinks he's a dog.  I'm serious.....when Kim calls him, he comes right over to her.  She can even ask Paris for a "kiss" and he gives her a little kiss.  So cute.  I made this card awhile back.  Kim was sorting thru papers and found her cards, and asked if we wanted to take pics of the cards.  We said absolutely.  The image was colored with colored pencils .... before I discovered Copics and Spectrum Noir's!  These cards are vintage coloring.  :o)

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'll be back tomorrow with another project.

Doggie Sympathy card from Marcie

Hi Blog Friends,

Our friend, Marcie Lofgren sent us this lovely sympathy card when we lost our sweet fur baby, Piper.  I was going thru cards the other day and came across it, so thought I'd share it with you.  I don't know who makes the stamp.  Love the clean design of this card.  It meant such much to us to receive it.  Thank you, Marcie.

Thanks for dropping by today.  See you again soon!

Ruby Red Slippers

Hi Blog Friends!

Today's posting is Ruby Red Slippers.  So much fun to color and embellish.  I used pearls, die cuts, gears, brads and an embossing folder.  Now I haven't worn heels in years....and I really can't imagine wearing these, but they do make a cool card.

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by.  See you again soon!

Le Peep

Hello Blog Friends,

We didn't get a picture of this taken before Easter, but I still wanted to share it.

Aren't these little Peeps adorable?  I just fell in love with the stamp.  It came from The Hen House.

Easy coloring, and I added some punched out flowers, and drew the stems and leaves.

Thanks for dropping by today.  Have a great weekend.!

Time to Create.....a collage

Hi Bloggers,

Today's post is a collage taught by our group Technique Master, Lydia Carrell, last week.  She's taught us some really fun projects, and this one is right up there with the other collage project she shared.

I mentioned to Lydia, that it's nice to do something different and experiment with new supplies.  We used gel medium, paints, dress patterns, lace, rubber stamps, embroidery thread, shimmer sprays, die cuts, tulle, mini gems, perfect pearls, flowers buttons and an adorable little clock charm.  Lydia provided most of the materials.  Thanks, Lydia!

Thanks for dropping by today.  :o)

"Zentangled Inspired"

Hello Blog Friends,

Quickie post today.  I joined the ATC swap for March.  The theme was "Zentangle Inspired", so here' my little guy with Zentangled wings.  The stamped image has blank wings, so I was able to do my Zentangle in four wings.  You can't see it in the pic, but the body of the dragonfly is Stickles.  Wish you could see the glittery body.  If you haven't tried Zentangle, try it....it's fun!

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by.
