Happy Birthday Grandson!

Hi Friends,

Today's post is a card I made for our grandson, Desmond.  He loves movies, and his favorite now is The Grand Budapest Hotel.  Grandpa was able to print the picture of the Budapest Grand Hotel for me, so I made that the focal point of the card.  I used lots of stickers too.  It's a fun card, and was pretty quick to make.

The inside of the card has stamped Happy Birthday, punched out with circle punches, and a few more stickers added.  Card base is kraft card stock.

Desmond loved the card.  We watched his face when he opened his card and he got a big ole smile on his face.  Made me happy!  :o)

Happy Birthday Patrick!

Hi Friends,

Today's post is a birthday card I made for our son Pat.  It's an old truck surrounded by fishing gear.  He loves to fish, so thought he'd enjoy this image.

Colored it up with Copics.  Layered it with scrapbook papers, chocolate card stock, and a little green card stock on the happy birthday banner.  Added a couple of brads on the banner.  Spellbinder's dies used on the truck image and background.

Have a great weekend!  We're supposed to get some rain, and I really hope it knocks some of the pollen off our juniper trees.  Thanks for stopping by to visit.   Until next time......

Mi Casa es Su Casa

Hi Friends,

For those of you who don't know Spanish, "Mi Casa es Su Casa" translates to "My Home is Your Home."  A sweet sentiment that has been around for a very long time.  I can't imagine anyone not knowing what it means, but wanted to translate, just in case.

This is the fourth card I made for the Stamp A Mania booth at convention this year.  This one, I must confess is my personal fave.

I love the little adobe bird house with the ladder, chimney, vigas, and the exposed adobes.  It looks like a Santa Fe bird house.  :o)

The pot is the SAM Decorated Vase.  I will list all the stamps at the bottom of this post.  I cut off the top of the vase because I wanted to use this particular pot and wanted to give the pot a new look, in addition to showing it's versatility.  You can see the whole pot on the SAM website.

Colored with Copic markers, and embossed a terra cotta background with a Cuttlebug chicken wire embossing folder.

Here's a closeup of the sign.

Thanks for stopping by today.

The Marlena Wood Collection, Card 3

Hi Friends,

This is the third card I made for Stamp A Mania.  It's part of the Marlena Wood Collection.

As you'll notice, the little girls on this card have their eyes wide open, bright eyed and bushy tailed.  Stamp A Mania (SAM), will be at the Albuquerque convention this weekend.  Stop by if you're in the area.  They always have lots wonderful stamps for sale.

I love the little feather banner, and the little bird is so sweet.  Scattered feathers at the bottom of the card.  colored with Copic markers.

I'll have one more SAM card to post soon.

Thanks for stopping by today.  A new card will be posted soon.

Happy Weekend Blog Friends!

Today I am posting another new stamp set from Stamp A Mania (SAM).  Again, it is from the Marlena Wood Collection that SAM is premiering at the Mesa, Arizona, stamp convention this weekend. Next weekend, SAM will be at the Albuquerque stamp convention.  Get your shopping bags ready!

This collection features feathers and a bunny.  I love feathers....and bunnies too!  Isn't the bunny sweet with the little feather on his headband?  I embossed the feathers with SAM Detail Copper and SAM Weathered Copper embossing powders.  Love ~ love ~ love their embossing powders.  If you need to order any, you can find them at www.stampamania.com  Check out all the colors.

I cut out of of the little spirals for an "embellishment" at the top of the feathers.  Copics colored up the images.  Although you can't see it,  I used tiny dots of Stickles on to the girl's head band.  It's really hard to get bling to show up in photos.  Sometimes it does, but most of the time, not.  Embossed a piece of kraft colored card stock for the background; Cuttlebug embossing folder.  Distressed edges on white paper, and color distressed edges with Vintage Photo ink.

Enjoy!

Closeup of Feathers.....Love these feathers!  Detailed Copper embossing powder is on the back black and kraft card stock.  Weathered Copper embossing powder (one of my very faves, is on the other black card stock).
