You Make Me Happy

Hi Friends,

A really quick post today.  This was a card made in a Stampin Up workshop this year.  A nice card to send to that special someone to let them know they make you HAPPY!

Love the "happy" die cut.  It was a quick and easy card....just the kind you need when you're in a hurry, which anymore, is every day around my house.  :o)

Happy colors too......thanks for stopping by today.

                           Until next time.....

I'm Seeing Green Today!

Hi Friends!

It's a green day at Piper's Paper Wings.  I bought the prince card stock embellishment at Scraps Galore store a long long time ago.    While going through some of my mountains of paper stashes, I came across the prince, so decided to put a card together for hubby.  The nice thing about hubby, is he doesn't mind if I put a little bling (big ole green emerald colored gemstone) on his card.  What a guy!  :o)

The second card today is another version of the butterflies I did in green.  I must be in a green mood these days.  :o)

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I'll be back later.....until next time.....

Five Butterflies

Hi Friends!

Today's post is a card using a Memory Box die.  I used the die on black card stock, and used some scrapbook paper from my stash in the background.  Layered it onto pink card stock and added different colored gemstones in the middle of the butterflies.

The second pic is one that hubby took of an enormous thunderhead that was building Monday night.  It was awesome.  :o)

Remember you can click on any of the photos for a closer look.

Thunderhead brewing over the Sangre de Cristo mountains in Santa Fe.  Click on this one...you'll see what I'm talking about.  Awesome!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Until next time.....

Happy 30th Anniversary!

Hi Friends!

Today's card is one I made for my Sweetie for our 30th anniversary.  We both love birds, so thought this would fit the bill.  I used a woodgrain embossing folder, and brushed it with distress ink.  I used a Spellbinder's die to cut out the heart in the middle of the card.  Next, I layered the birds and branch.  The bird is a SU punch.  The little branch is a Sizzix die.  I colored the birds with distress inks.  The tiny hearts were punched out with a Martha Stewart punch.  Of course, I got to the anniversary "year" and didn't have the right size numbers.  Luckily, I found a stamp set with numbers at the very last minute, after a quick trip to the store.  Whew....

So my computer is acting up today and deciding to capitalize whatever words it wants to, so please ignore the capitalizations.  My Mac has a mind of it's own today and I'm tired of trying to fix it.  Argh.......

I hope you enjoy today's card.  Our anniversary was in February, but just got around to ask hubby to take pics of a few cards today. This was one of them.

Close-up of birds and branch.

Thanks for stopping in today.  Have a good week.  Until next time...

Coloring with Markers on Rubber

Happy weekend friends!

Today's card is one that I colored with Marvy Markers directly onto rubber.  I really like the way it turned out.  Do you remember when coloring onto rubber was the rage?  I keep my markers in a big Tupperware (the real Tupperware, not Rubbermaid), because they truly are "air-tight."  It has worked for me and my markers are still like brand new.  It's good to dig out the old supplies and use them once in awhile.  :o)  I like using the rectangle pieces of Tupperware for marker storage, and have several pieces specifically for that use.  Works great!

I added an Asian symbol at the bottom for some interest, and the heart in the background as well.  Backed the image with green and metallic gold patterned paper, then another metallic gold sheet, then the purple.

I hope you're all having a good weekend....we're waiting for some rain this afternoon.
The weeds will love it.  lol   Until next time....

Wine Gets Better with Age.....

Hi Friends,

Here's a card with a glass of red wine.  I don't think I'd do very well if I had a glass of wine while stamping.  lol   There is one woman who does several youtube videos who always has a glass of wine on her desk....maybe you've seen her videos?   The main image was part of our stamp group's monthly ATC trade, and the topic was "wine." The image is by Art Impressions.  Love their crazy lady stamps.  :o)   Colored it up with Copics, and added some Stickles to her earrings for a little bling.  Punched out the sentiment with a circle punch and distressed the edges with Broken China distress ink.

I embossed the background and embellished the card with some flowers and brads.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Until next time....
