Noble Deer

Hello Bloggers!

We're back from the mountains again.  Boy....it's a heck of a lot cooler up there than it is in town.  We got rain every single day, and one day we got 2" in less than an hour.  Thought we were going to float away.  lol   Actually, it was nice and it sure made for nice sleeping in the evening.  The valleys and meadows were so green, and the horses were loving it all.   The best part of the trip was having our grandson, Desmond with us.  There was a "Christmas in July" celebration all weekend, so we enjoyed that.  A complete Christmas dinner with turkey, dressing, cranberries and all the trimmings was served.  Kinda fun having Christmas dinner in July.  Yummy!

Okay, today's card is Noble Deer, and the stamp is by Stampin Up.  DH loves deer, so I made this for him for Father's Day.  Colored with Copics and I used Distressed Stickles around the edges of the image.  Four gold brads were added, and an olive green background was added behind the colored image.  The die cuts are by Spellbinder's.

That's it for today. I'll  be back another day with a new card to share.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Glad to be home!

Hello Bloggers!

I've been absent again, sorry.   We've been so busy with appointments, I haven't had time to blog.  But....today I sat down and scrolled thru some pics and found this cute little corset card that I haven't posted.  The image is by Stampendous.  Love corsets. How do you like that tiny waistline?  I colored it up with Copics,  and added some blingy Stickles to the bows on the sides of the corset.  Embossed the background paper, and added a bit of lace on the right-hand side.  To finish it off, I added a black bow with a pink flower in the middle.  Hope you enjoy this one.   :-)

I'll be without WiFi again for a few days, but will post something as soon as I'm back online.  Thanks a bunch for dropping by today.

It's a Bleached Chili Day

Hi Bloggers!

We're back from the mountains.  No WiFi in the boonies.  I'm lost without my computer and computer access.  So....although bleached chili doesn't sound very appetizing, it does make a neat card.  Today's image is by the all time favorite Stamp A Mania.  I believe this image is probably one of their most popular because of all the things you can do with it.  And living in New Mexico, of course, Chili is loved by all New Mexicans who eat chili on a regular basis.  We love our NM chili!  Hubby is from North Dakota and is now an official Chili Addict!    :o)  As happens to us all, our tastes change, and he was at the beginning, a green chili lover, but now appears to favor the red chili.  I can't ever decide which chili to order at a restaurant, so as many of us in NM do......I request "Christmas" which is half red, half green.  Love it!  Web address for stamp is:  www.stampamania.com

Okay, today's card was embossed with Stamp A Mania Glacier White embossing powder on to black card stock.  Then I used by water brush and dipped it in bleach....Clorox, full strength.  Be sure to mark your water brush with a Sharpie so that you know that brush is for "bleach only."  Paint the chili, leaves, and the outer edge of the border with bleach (it may take more than one bleach application).   It's good if you can use the bleach near an open window or door with a little ventilation.  Layer with your favorite card stock, scrapbook paper on background, embellish with a little lizard, and you voila!  All done.

Glad to be home, and back to my computer.  Our old computer went to that big hard drive in the sky, and I'm still figuring out the new Mac computer.  Similar, but different in so many ways. Thanks so much for stopping by today.....I'll be back later with another card.

Happy Independence Day!

Happy 4th Bloggers!

Today, I'm lucky enough to share a wonderful post card I received from my friend, Liane Ceglar....Thank you Liane!

Isn't the little girl on the card adorable?  It looks like a vintage photo, surrounded by stars.  The big stars are really glittery.  And of course, the sentiment says it all.  How fortunate we all are to live in this great country.  We have lots to be thankful for, but especially our freedom.

My hubby is a retired Firefighter, so today we are remembering and praying the the 19 Firefighters (and the families left behind) who perished in the Arizona fire.   They truly are our heros, and we are flying our flag outside at half staff in their honor.

Happy Independence Day!  Have a safe and fun day.  I won't be posting for a few days as I won't have internet access.  I'll be back online later.  Until next time.

Butterfly and Roses

Hello Blog Friends,

Today's card is Butterfly and Roses.  All supplies used are Stampin Up.  The butterfly is a punch and the ovals are a punch and a die cut.  The roses were colored with a colored marker on to the rubber, then stamped.  The butterfly was edged with a regular stamp pad and sponge.  Then I added the little pearls for some pearly bling.   The card size is A2.  I really like the tan and rose colors together.

Hope you like today's card.  I'll be back.  Until next time.  Oh, I saw this the other day and just thought it was the cutest saying.....
