Happy Thanksgiving to you all

Happy Thanksgiving Blog Friends!

I am thankful today for all my Blog Friends!  Thank you all for following my blog.  May your day be blessed with all things good. DH (dear hubby) took a pic this morning of our Thanksgiving card for this year.  I didn't think I'd get it posted, but here it is.  The little owl is by Stampabilities, and I placed him right on the fence....cute little guy.  The embossing folder is by Sizzix, called Fall Set.  I love that Sizzix embossing folders makes a nice deep impression.  I embossed the owl with Stamp A Mania (www.stampamania.com) embossing power Desert Sunset.  It's a beautiful color and perfect for this card.  I wish you could see how the owl sparkles, but it's not showing up in the photo.

"Happy Thanksgiving" is in the inside of the card. Sentiment is by Stamp A Mania.  I just love the swirly font they use for so many of their words.  This one is part of the set called "Mary's Calligraphy Set FP-014" and stamps in the set are all cling mounted with a wonderful laminated cover sheet that is pre 3-holed punched for your binder. Check it out when you get a chance at www.stampamania.com

That's it for today.  Thank you for stopping by today.  We wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving.

Yellow Sunflowers

Happy Thanksgiving Bloggers!

I goofed and said I'd post a Thanksgiving card today.  I just went into my photo file, and low and behold, I failed to have hubby take a picture of the card.  I'm sorry.  I will post it later.  Today's post is a sunny sunflower image.  Colored with Copics and Stickles in the center of each flower.  Pretty simple because the flowers take up the majority of the card.  This stamp is so big, it reaches from the top of the card to the bottom.  Tiny green brads added to each corner, and background layered with coordinating card stock.  Easy peasy.

Thanks for dropping by today.  I wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving Day!

A Double Thanksgiving Blessing

Hello Blog Friends!

You all know how sometimes we forget things?  Well, my dear friend Liane, forgot she'd mailed me a Thanksgiving postcard, so then mailed a card as well.  Hence.....a  "Double Thanksgiving Blessing" from Liane.  Thank you for the beautiful card!  Love the colors, composition and tag.  I don't know who makes the stamp, nor how she did the background, but it's it gorgeous?  Love it!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'll be back with one more Thanksgiving card before turkey day.  Until next time, happy stamping!

The Little Pilgrim

Hi Blog Friends!

Today I'm sharing a sweet little post card I received from my friend, Liane Ceglar.  Isn't the clip art adorable?  I love the pose....hands on hips.  It looks like Thanksgiving scrapbook paper on the background, and the edges I think were stippled with a brown ink.  A cute pumpkin brad was added below the rooster.
Thank you, Liane!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'll be back soon.  Until next time....

Southwest Storyteller

Hello Blog Friends!

According to the weather on TV this morning, Santa Fe is in for a big snow storm that's supposed to last thru the weekend.  We shall see.  We definitely need the snow pack for the water shed, but I don't venture out much when the weather is bad and roads are icy and snow packed.  Maybe I'll get to stay home and get some things done at home that I've neglected lately.  That would be a good thing.

Today's card is an image by Stamp A Mania (SAM).  This little Native American Storyteller is one of my very favorite stamps.  Isn't she great?  I colored her with Copics.  The feather behind the Storyteller is also by SAM as well as the Southwestern border.  I will list the stamps with numbers at the bottom of this post.  SAM also produces their fabulous "Chunks of Turquoise" that are packaged in a jar.  There are many sizes and shapes, and I found a perfect stone for her necklace.  I've used these little gems on a number of cards and books and people love them.  I placed a metal embellishment in the center of each square in the southwestern border.

I'm still digging into my photo file,  and I'm sorry....only one pic of the storyteller.  You can click on the picture to enlarge it for a better view.

Thanks for stopping by today.  As soon as the sun is out again, we'll be taking pics of new cards.  Wanted to get it done today, but it's really cloudy.  Until next time......

A True Friend......

Hello Blog Friends,

Just got home for a sandwich break from the nursing home.  I hate to admit it, but I've hardly cooked a meal since mom entered the nursing home.  I don't think we've ever been through anything this difficult.  We take it one day at a time.  Doing the best we can.

I wanted to mention to you all....if you have the opportunity to see the movie "Nebraska" with Bruce Dern, go see it.  It's really good. One of my part-time jobs is screening movies for five movie studios here in Santa Fe.  The recession took it's toll on the number of screenings, so I was pleasantly surprised when Paramount Studios called and asked me to screen Nebraska.  The audience gave Nebraska an "excellent" rating.  I understand distribution is limited, so if you're lucky enough for it to come to a theater near you, try to see it.  You won't be disappointed.

I'm digging deep into my old cards to find something to post.  Made this a while back, and found it in my photos file.  It was a pretty fast card, no coloring.  A piece of black and white scrapbook paper for the base background on red card stock.  Rounded the corners on the chandelier sheet, added a red and white grosgrain ribbon with bow on the bottom, and then added some red rhinestones to the chandelier.  Backed the sentiment with red card stock.  Easy peasy.

I[m hoping that hubby will be able to take some pictures of a few new cards that are gathering dust.  We haven't been home much, and the times we are here, it's been too dark and cloudy to take pictures.  We'll get to them soon tho.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Until next time.....

Last Shoe in Blues and Greens with a Touch of Purples

Hi Bloggers!

Here's the last shoe in blues, greens and a touch of purple.  I used a green grosgrain ribbon on this card.   Changed up the colors on the shoe a bit.  A quickie posting today.  Off to the nursing home to see how mom's doing today.

Wishing you all a very good weekend!  We're supposed to get rain/snow tomorrow and Saturday.  I guess winter is here.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by.  Until next time.....

Fabulous Shoes - Purple

Hi Blog Friends,

I'll be posting three different colors of the Fabulous Shoes the next couple of days.  I thought about doing all three together, but since we've been at the nursing home 2-3 times a day, I've been running really short on stamping time.  Have patience with me....I'll try and make some more cards soon.

Here's today's purple/lavender card.  The stamp is by Stampin Up.  Scrapbook paper is black background piece.  Organza ribbon is used on the trim, and a little rhinestone on the "i" on Friends.  Stickles is used around the die cute.  Oh, and both Spectrum Noir's and Copics used on the coloring of the shoe.  I added a few scattered purple rhinestones to the high heel for some bling.  :o)

Remember...to see a bigger picture of the card, click on it and it'll enlarge.  That's the purple card for today.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Until next time.....

Chalkboard Happy Birthday

Hello Blog Friends!

I hope you're having a good weekend.  Our weather has been gorgeous, so we are really enjoying the mild weather before we get the cold snap predicted for next weekend.  Today's card is a chalkboard Happy Birthday greeting embossed with Glacier White Embossing Powder by Stamp A Mania.  The background was run thru a dotted design embossing folder.  I  made this card a while back and can't remember if the flower and leaves is a die or if it was a stamp, and cut in layers. And I'm now wondering if I made this card in a class because I don't think I have that flower.  When I found the pics of this card today, I sure wish I could find the flower because I really like it.  If anyone out there in blogland knows who makes the flower, I'd really like to know.  :o)   I used green and white twine wrapped around card behind the flower.  A little red pearl embellishment is glued in the center of the flower.  I like the red, black and kraft colors together.

That is for today.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Until next time.....

Happy Halloween...a bit late

Hello Blog Friends!

A tad late, but you all know how life gets in the way sometimes, and this time.....I'm getting to my blog a day late.  Remember I said blog lag time from actually typing it all in and uploading pics is about 12 hrs turn around time?  I stand corrected...it's about 24 hours!  I have no idea why it takes so long, but that's the way it is.  I should explain a little more...."followers" receive the "new posting" the next day.  Now, if you log on to the blog, you're able to see the latest without waiting for the new posting email to arrive.  I hope this makes sense.  :o)

Anyway, on to the card.  I'd mentioned that my friend Liane, had sent me the adorable die cuts from a Tim Holtz border/strip die.  I used the die cuts to make my ATC swaps for October, and wanted to make a Halloween card with one.  The stamp in the back ground...circles of dots is by Judkins.  I stamped the dots in orange and purple using Distress Inks.  The spider web in the top right hand corner is by Martha Stewart.  I found the orange burlap at Hobby Lobby.  The base purple embossed sheet was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  In the third pic you can really see the skeleton and bones...love that folder.  Spooky!  I used tiny star brads on the corners, and originally they were a brass color, so colored them black with a Sharpie pen.

That's it for today. Off to see mom in the nursing home where she's getting physical therapy, and hopefully getting stronger each day.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Until next time...
