House Mouse Lilacs

Hello Bloggers,

Although not everyone is a House Mouse fan, I do like a lot of their images.  They kinda grew on me.  And, since I LOVE lilacs, this one really caught my eye.  Because of our terrible dry weather in Santa Fe, our lilacs have been sparse this year.  Usually, you can drive throughout the city and see lilacs blooming everywhere.  And they smell so good.  I sure have missed them this year.  I used Copics to color this one, and added a few little flowers to the side of the card.

That's it for today.  See you later this week.  Until next time.

I'm baaaaaack! and a card for Cheryl to share......

Hi Blog Friends!

Oh my gosh, first let me apologize for not blogging for a while.  Our computer crashed....big time, and I had no way of letting you all know that I would not be blogging until we got a new computer.  Argh!  Well after looking and doing lots research, we finally made the decision to go with a Mac.  Be patient, as I'm still learning how to use this beast.  lol  It's good to have a computer again!  I have to  admit tho, I got lots more done without a computer calling my name throughout the day.  :o)

Today's post is a lovely mermaid I made for a friend, Cheryl Valadez, who is a fabulous Copic artist.  Cheryl's friend, Shay (another fabulous paper artist), hosted a surprise birthday party for Cheryl.  This is the card I made for her party.  The card along with a bottle of Absolut Vanilla Vodka (we found out that's one of Cheryl's faves) were Cheryl's gifts.  She was really surprised when she came thru the front door, saw everyone and heard "Surprise!!!" It was a very fun evening with great company, yummy food and good conversation.  Here's the mermaid.........

The image is by Meer Images.  I don't remember if I used alcohol markers or colored pencil.  I added some bling to her tail to finish her off. Mermaids like bling too....lol.  Oh, and a punch was used on the left side.  I believe it's a Martha punch.  That's it for today.  When hubby has time, he'll walk me thru another blog tut, until I get the hang of the new steps used on this computer.  Until next time, try and stay cool in this heat.  Hope it rains soon.  :o)

Ride 'em Pony

Happy Father's Day to my Blog Dads!

Today's post is the other Sizzix die cut I promised to share.  I just love horses, and this guy fits the bill for those little cowboys or cowgirls out there.  If you look closely, you can see his crooked little smile!  It doesn't show up well in the picture.

I used a Tim Holtz die for the gold background die cut.  It wasn't wide enough, so I split it down the middle and added the red strip of cardstock in the middle.  Worked great....so keep that in mind when your die cut isn't quite wide enough.  :o)   The horse has a number of pieces, but was really easy to put together.  I cut his handkerchief out of red bandana scrapbook paper.  The background wood grain paper is some I've had in my paper stash forever.

That's it for today.  I wish all you Dad's a wonderful day!  Until next time.

The Quail Couple

Hello Bloggers!

The Quail Couple is in the spotlight today.  I don't know who makes the stamp.  It's on cling, with no company name noted.  I colored it up with Spectrum Noir's.  Stamp A Mania is running a special on Spectrum's.......check it out at www.stampamania.com

Also, I just received an email from Stamp A Mania, and they're running a special on Spellbinder dies, at 40% off!  Wow....that's a deal.  Mark says once they're gone, they're gone, so be quick.  Many of the dies that are on sale, I haven't seen at the local stores.

Until next time....stay cool.

A Little Sizzix Rooster

Hi Blog Friends,

Whew.......it's warmed up in Santa Fe.  Have the swamp cooler going all day long now.  Sure am glad we have it.

Today I'm sharing a card I made with one of my Sizzix dies.  It's been sitting on a shelf forever, so I thought it was time to use it.  I like the way it turned out.  So many people like roosters.  I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the chicken wire background.  And a Tim Holtz embossing folder that the rooster is on.  Red and white twine and a red button finish it off.  The rooster has 7 pieces, and it went together pretty fast.

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by.  Stay cool.  Until next time.

Indian Warrior

Hello Blog Friends,

Happy weekend!  I hope you're enjoying the lovely weather in NM.  We still have two big fires burning, so that's not good, but at least we don't have wind today.  We've been praying hard for rain, but to no avail.  Okay, today's card is one I bought at an estate sale!  I have no clue who makes the stamp (it's just rubber on cling so no name on wood to find who makes the stamp)  and it's one I hadn't seen before.  I used some tiny copper stars, and a Copic Spica pen on the hair.  I don't think you can see the shimmer in the pic, but it looks nice.  The color is called chocolate.

The background feather stamp is by Stamp A Mania (SAM).  Love that feather.  I think it may also come in a smaller size.  SAM have some really nice feather stamps.  You can check them out at www.stampamania.com    Well, that's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until next time.

Hello Blog Friends,

Today's card is my rendition of a Robin.  I'm not sure the bird is  really a robin, but I wanted to color it like a robin.  I embossed the background paper, sanded it just a bit with a sanding block, then used a piece of patterned scrapbook paper on top of the embossed paper.  Attached a gold embellishment (brad), and gold thread.  I used Glossy Accents on the berries.  The coloring was done with  Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  Stamp A Mania has a great sale on Spectrum's if you're interested.  You can find more info at www.stampamania.com    Check it out.

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until next time.

Happy Camper

Howdy Bloggers,

Today I'm sharing my Happy Camper card.  We've been RVing since way back when.  Started out with a little 21' Winnabago pull-behind, graduated to a fifth wheel....actually two different 5th wheels, and now we're traveling in a 40' motor home.  Love the conveniences of a motor home.  We always have to chuckle because when we began our "camping" plans, we were looking for a Coleman stove.  LOL    Eeeek!  I don't think I could take the "roughing it" camping style anymore.

Anyway, here's today's card.  A cute little camper.  I got this stamp at the Hen House in Albuquerque.  Colored it up with Spectrum Noir's.   By the way, Stamp A Mania has a great deal on the Sprectrum's....check it out at www.stampamania.com   Plus, they have a super sale on Spellbinder dies...the more you buy, the bigger the discount you receive.  Love those dies.

I used Ranger's Glossy Accents on the little round porthole window, and I'll be darn if I didn't end up with a bubble right in the middle of the window!  Oops.  Oh well.  I stuck a round red sticker on the tail light.  Put in a few springs of grass, and it's done.  Thanks for dropping in today.  Until next time.

A Birthday Card

Hello Blog Friends,

I'm sure you've seen the news the last couple of days.  We watched it on national news this evening.  Two major fires going in New Mexico.  Not good.....the smoke has been pretty bad and we've had to keep our doors and windows closed most of the time. On our way back from Pendaries, NM, yesterday, we stopped at a store in Las Vegas, NM, and the ashes fell on us as we entered and exited the store.  So scary!  Scattered rain showers in the forecast for tomorrow.  We pray that it comes without the lightening.

Today I'm sharing a birthday card.  Fun to color, and the background is embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder.  Love the dots.  The side banner piece is scrapbook paper sprinkled with glittered flowers. Layered with green, lilac and purple card stock.  If you look closely, I've added white tiny dots on the very bottom of her skirt.  Get your magnifying glass out!  :o)

That's all for today.  Thanks for dropping by.  Until next time.

Hello again! A "long" get well card

HELLO BLOG FRIENDS! It's been a very long time since I've blogged.  You know how life gets in the way of things, and we have cer...
