HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Hello Blog Friends!

Blogging business has been very slow on my end, but I did make a new Halloween card this year.  I used a House Mouse stamp.  Monica the Butterfly.  She's so darn cute.  Copic coloring, Spellbinder's frame die, scrapbook paper from my Halloween stash, and the orange ribbon is from JoAnn's.  The embellishments are Nuvo enamel glitter orange.  I used a little Diamond Stickles on the pumpkin.

Click on the picture for a closer look.

I hope you all are well and ready for the little ghosts and goblins tomorrow night.

Be safe and have a fun Halloween!

ORANGE & YELLOW ON BLACK

Hello Bloggers!

I hope you're all ready for the weekend.  Summer is quickly coming to an end.  Our mornings feel a bit chilly compared to the last few months.  Feels good!

Today's card is one I made in a SU workshop with Leilani, awhile back.  The clear acetate with gold design on the left side is by SU, as are the stamps and sentiment.  After coloring the flowers and die cutting, it was a quick card to put together.

Thanks for stopping by to visit.  I'll be back later with another card.

Geri

A Card made for Southwest Trading Post's - Just Brads & Eyelets Co.

Hello Bloggers,

Today's card is one I made for the owner of Southwest Trading Post's Brads & Eyelets.  They're a bit hard to see.....but if you look closely, you'll see the cute centers of the flowers.  They are embellishments from Just Brads & Eyelets.  Just Brads & Eyelets owner, Sharalynn, put out a challenge to make something with the green embellishments.  This is what I came up with.
Stamps are from Stampin Up, ribbon from my stash, and a dotted embossing folder for the background.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Hello Blog Friends,

As you can tell, I've been really bad about blogging.  I have so much to do, blogging has not been on my mind.

I hope you are well.  I just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a Happy 4th.

No 4th of July card to post, but I'll share a dragonfly card with you today.

The white background was stamped with a tan ink pad, and the dragonflies were colored with green and blue.  I made the card so long ago, I don't remember what supplies were used.  :o(  The dragonfly die is by SU.  Three pearls were added to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by.....and have a fun and safe celebration!

HAPPY EASTER!

HAPPY EASTER!

Wishing you all a blessed day with family and friends.

This year's Easter card is one with some humor.  I've seen different versions of this, and this is mine.....
I used scrapbook paper from my stash for the background.  The grass was cut with fringe scissors, and the tiny flowers are made from a variety of punches, then I dotted the centers with yellow Liquid Pearls.   The brown bunnies are a Tim Holtz die.  I used a scallop punch to remove part of one bunny's butt, and the other one's ears.  I hope you get the humor....one friend told me she had to explain it to her hubby.  Ack!  To finish off the card, I added a few green sequins.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful Easter!

IT'S DRAGONFLY TIME!

Happy Weekend Friends!

It's dragonfly time.  Summer is almost here, and these little guys will be flying around before we know it.  I think we all love the beauty of the dragonfly.  I used to love seeing them when we went fly-fishing.  I used to fish from a float tube and paddle around the lake.....so much fun!  The best part was having so many different colored dragonfly's land right on my float tube!

I made this card at the Glitter Chicks swap, and it was originally designed by Liane.  She makes beautiful cards, and dragonflies are one of her favorites.  Thanks, Liane!  Awesome card.  This is the new SU dragonfly die. Pretty die cut doily, and I'm not sure, but it may also be SU.  Love the brown and white polkadot paper, and the tan embossed background behind the dragonfly is so pretty.  Three tiny pearls added, and the sentiment on a little banner and card is done.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I'll be back later with something new.

3rd Prize at the Rubber Stamp Convention

Hello Bloggers!

I won 3rd prize at the Albuquerque Rubber Stamp Convention!  I'd never entered a card before, so when I saw that one of the categories was "You're a Classic" ..... I thought I'd enter my card for fun.  Barely got it mailed in on time, since it was a last minute decision.  Glad I did now.  3rd prize was $50.00 to spend at any of the vendor booths.

The first photo is the actual card that won.  They have to be A2 size, and I'm used to making the bigger A7 size.  I apologize for the photo, but all the contest cards were covered in a huge sheet of plastic, hence the glare.  I was in such a rush to mail the card off, I failed to take a photo of it.  Two friends came to my rescue.  I'm not sure if Danne or Ken took this photo as I received two photos of the card.  So....thank you both for taking the photos!  :o)

The second photo is a card I made for someone who ordered a card when she saw the one that won.  I made the special order in the A7 size.  I was flattered and humbled by the special order as the request came from a professional card maker who makes the most beautiful cards I've ever seen.  Thanks, Danne!

THE ESSENCE OF LOVE IS KINDNESS......

Hello Friends,

A quick weekend post.  I made this card in a swap. The original design is by my friend, Liane.  :o)
I love the red tulips wrapped in printed paper with little hearts.  The background paper is also printed paper.  A black and white twine is tied around the image.  Colored with Copic markers.  The card base is black.  Makes a really cool card.

I've managed to catch two colds in less than
2-1/2months, so I've been slow blogging.  There's some kind of yuck going around that just won't let go.  Getting better now.
Thanks for stopping by the blog.  I'll be back later with something new.  Have a good weekend.

BIRTHDAYS ARE LIKE HAIRBALLS!

Hello Friends,

This card just cracks me up!  Anymore, yup....birthdays are like hairballs.  Oh well, better to have them than the alternative, as the saying goes.  My friend Edie came up with the design, and I just love it.  Simple and adorable.  The kitty is by Stampendous, and sadly, no longer available.  :o(  I'd love to find him.  I forget who the sentiment is by...sorry.  Colored up kitty with Copics, and used Fun Flock for the "hairball."  Hilarious....maybe I have a weird sense of humor....no I do have a weird sense of humor.  And anymore, just watching the news on television, I'm happy to find anything to laugh about.  haha  And thank you Ms. Edie for a fun card!

I hope all you cat lovers out there enjoy the kitty card.  Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back later with something new.

Hugs, Geri

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Hello Friends,

A couple of days early, but wanted to wish you all a very Happy Valentine's Day.  If I don't get this posted today, I'll miss the big day.

Once in a while I like cards with a lot of white showing.  The colored card stock is almost a periwinkle color, really pretty.  Fun to make cards with other than the usual holiday colors.  The heart is a die cut, as is the "love" and the arrow.  Loved the little arrow with heart on it.  Hubby teaches archery at three different venues in Santa Fe, so I'm always looking for arrows.  He took first place in his divison at the NM State Archery Tournament last weekend!  :o)

I embossed a strip of white card stock with little hearts, for a side accent.  Added pearls to the center of the big heart, and layered all on a square card.  I don't make square cards very often.

Happy Valentine's Day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATRICK!

 Hello Friends,

Awhile back, I had made a card like this for hubby.  My friend Edie had originally designed the card, and I decided to make another one for our son for his birthday.  It's a fun card to make.  Mostly punching circles for the bubbles, cutting strips for the mug, and using Distress Ink for the edges.  I made the mug handle by using two different sizes of oval punches.  Layered mug on to woodgrain paper, and backed that with chocolate brown card stock, then glued it on to a kraft card.  Happy Birthday Pat!  :o)

Thanks for stopping by.  I'm working on Valentine cards and will share soon.

FRIENDS ARE MY UMBRELLA

My Dear Blog Friends,

I know you've probably been wondering where I've been.  We lost my mom two days before Christmas.  It was a very difficult time, and we are just now beginning to get back to taking care of so many things that have fallen by the wayside.

I want to thank all of my dear friends who gave us so much love and comfort.  You know who you are, and you all have been my umbrella.  :o) Thank you for the prayers, beautiful cards, plants, phone calls, emails and food.  We will forever be grateful for your friendship.  Our kids were also a great comfort to us, and helped us with the arrangements.  Thank you, and we love you!

When I saw this card that I'd made a couple of months ago, it reminded me of all my blessings, so I'm posting it today.  The sentiment reads "When things are tough, friends are your umbrella".... you can click on the picture to enlarge it.

Thanks also for sticking with me through thick and thin...and my posts have been on the thin side for sure.
                    Much Love,
                      Geri xoxo
