A Whole Lot a Punching Going On

Happy weekend blog friends!

I know most of you won't receive this until Monday, but I am posting it today...Sunday.  Ah, the joys of snail paced blogland.  These are a couple of cards I made a while back one day when I decided to give my punches a good workout.  Pics were taken a while back, so they're not the best, but I think you get the picture.   I believe all punches were by Martha Stewart, and the "friendship" word stamp is Stampin Up.  I only made two cards cuz my hands got tired and sore from punching so many borders.  It was fun tho, and I'm always up for trying something different.

 We've broken all kinds of records in NM, for rainfall this month, in fact most of it just this last week.  We've gone from a drought to flooding.  More rain in the forecast for the next few days.  We're floating away.  Thanks for stopping by today.   Until next time...

Happy Anniversary Pat & Yvette!

Today I'm sharing a card I made for our son Pat, and his wife, Yvette.  Today is their anniversary.  Happy Anniversary you two!

I got this stamp at the last stamp convention.  Colored it up with Copics, and used a Spellbinder's die for the frame.  Added three tiny pearls for embellishments and layered with pink card stock (Yvette's fave color), and striped scrapbook paper background.  A little touch of Stickles on the back of the dress for some bling.

Beautiful Bright Spring Centerpieces by Judy

Today, I have the pleasure of sharing the gorgeous centerpieces that my cousin Judy, who lives in Surprise, Arizona made.  She belongs to a group of women (not sure how often they meet or what their group does, but this project was for a luncheon) and she made these centerpieces for their gathering.  I believe she said each of the ladies got to take one of these beauties home following lunch!  Judy used her Cuttlebug (she has the beautiful Anna Griffin Cuttlebug) to emboss the "ribbons" on the sides of the boxes.  If you look closely, you can see the embossing.  And...she made each flower by hand!  OMG! I can't imagine how much time that must have taken, but they turned out beautifully.  Love all the different colors Judy used.  Wouldn't you like to have been the lucky recipient of one of these lovely arrangements?  I sure would have.   Just looking at them makes me happy!   ;o)

Black and Red

Hi Blog Friends!

Are you ready for the Labor Day weekend?  I guess this will be the last holiday before the weather gets cold and we can't do our outside fun activities.  Here in Santa Fe, NM, the smell of Fall is in the air.  The mornings are cooler, but our days have been pretty warm.  

Today's card is stamped with a cling mounted stamp I bought at one of the stamp conventions.  I failed to write on the stamp who makes the stamp.  If any of you out there in stampland know who makes this one, please share the into.

I used a Spellbinder's lattice die for the background.  Really like this die.  I was worried that it would take forever to punch out the little diamond shapes, but they fell out like butter.  Yay!  No coloring on this card, so it was pretty easy.  Added some ribbon I bought at a yarn store in Albuquerque.  Yep, a yarn store.  It's beautiful ribbon with tiny threads of gold running thru it.  I'm sure knitters love it.  I wish hubby had taken a closeup of the ribbon, it truly is pretty, and unlike anything you'll find in a craft store.

When hubby photographed this card, the two shots turned out so differently because of the angle he took the pictures.  The top picture doesn't really show much of the glittery sparkle, but as you'll notice, the second shot is very sparkly!  Colored with Spectrum Noir's alcohol markers.  By the way, I spoke with Mark at Stamp A Mania and wanted to let you all know they're have an awesome sale on Spectrum's....50% off, limited to the stock they have available.  Great price if you've been wanting to try these alcohol markers.  Mark also mentioned he has their sponge dauber cases on sale.  I want to get one of these cases, as they each hold 40 (yes, forty), sponge daubers.  I love using the daubers with dye inks, although I only have abut 5 daubers, and they roll all over the place.  Really like the idea of 40 daubers contained in ONE case. Check out the specials at www.stampamania.com    I think I'll place my order for the sponge dauber case --- loaded with the sponge daubers.  Play time! I've been dying to try them with the Kaliedacolor pads.

Quite the Pear

Today's card was made without using markers.  Believe it or not, I don't always color when making cards.  :o)  This card has a few more embellies than I normally use, but I like the way it turned out.  Sometimes I am determined to think outside of my usual comfort zone.  This was one of those times.  

I believe the trim punch is a Martha punch.  I used scrapbook paper on the background, added three rhinestones, a yellow ribbon and green button.  When I saw this stamp, I thought it was the cutest thing for a "couples" card.  If I remember correctly, I bought it at Michael's, and.....I think it was in the dollar bin!  I haven't seen their dollar bin for a while, but maybe I'm not looking hard enough.  I need to check that out of of these days.  Loved the little pears and the sentiment. 

I want to thank you all who have written to ask about our son and his torn retina surgery.  He's doing well, although the gas bubble they put in his eye for the surgery, has not quite totally dissipated yet.  Once that's gone, he can get back to work.  He'll be one happy camper when that happens.  :o)   That's it for today.  Thanks a million for stopping by.  Until next time........
